About
A small lab for long-horizon questions.
Make Directory Labs is an independent research program exploring how computers can understand and assist complex human work.
The lab combines software engineering, applied AI, systems design, and real-world experimentation. Its work may produce commercial products, open-source tools, technical reports, prototypes, and failed experiments worth documenting.
The lab is currently led by Andrew Schwartz through Make Directory Developers.
Principles
- Computers should adapt to people, not the reverse.
- Context should survive tools, teams, and time.
- Decisions should remain explainable and traceable.
- Human oversight is a feature.
- Practical evidence matters.
